Intellectual property

Slag & ore processing.
Industrial technology.

GINZA holds intellectual property for metallurgical slag and ore processing. The concept combines material preparation, beneficiation and further recovery to obtain useful products from complex raw materials.

Processing stages

01
PREPARE & SEPARATE

Mechanical processing

Crushing and size classification prepare the feed and help liberate valuable components. Gravity and magnetic separation then use differences in density and magnetic response to produce enriched fractions.

Material preparation · Crushing · Gravity separation · Magnetic separation

02
TREAT SELECTIVELY

Chemical processing

Where the material and target product require it, chemical treatment forms part of the wider processing route. The approach is selected for the composition of the intermediate product and its suitability for further recovery.

03
RECOVER & REFINE

Metallurgical processing

Enriched intermediate products may move to metallurgical treatment to obtain marketable products. The stages are considered together, with a metal balance that connects feed characteristics, recovery and final outputs.

ONE INTEGRATED CONCEPT

The combination of stages is defined by the project. Each material requires its own process assessment.

Project assessment

Understand first. Design next.

The right process
starts with
the right questions.

Before a processing complex is selected, the feed material and operating conditions need to be understood. A comprehensive assessment provides the basis for the technical and economic concept.

01Material characterisation

Chemical and mineral composition establish what the material contains. Sieve analysis, crushability, abrasiveness and magnetic activity help determine how it can be prepared and separated.

  • Chemical and mineral composition
  • Particle-size distribution
  • Crushability and abrasiveness
  • Magnetic response
02Process design & metal balance

Quantitative and qualitative process schemes describe the movement of material through the complex. Water and slurry flows are considered alongside the metal balance, which is used to assess the efficiency of the proposed route.

03Site conditions & infrastructure

Plant configuration takes account of the climate, fuel and energy availability, water requirements and logistics. These conditions shape the equipment selection and the practical layout of the project.

04Products & potential applications

The assessment considers recovery of non-ferrous and precious metals where they are present, together with potential uses of residual mineral fractions. Product quality and suitability for other industries must be evaluated for each material.

From concept to operation

Built around the individual project

Think beyond
the processing plant.

A recovery project connects the material source, the beneficiation complex, the products and the future use of the site. GINZA’s approach considers this complete sequence.

  1. 01

    Plan the material source

For slag deposits, staged development considers the full depth of the deposit and its different horizons. The original concept includes fan-shaped working areas designed to accommodate ongoing disposal where site conditions allow.

  2. 02

    Develop the complex

An integrated beneficiation complex is configured for the material and site. Equipment development, manufacture and commissioning are considered as part of a coordinated project, with processing and product preparation on site.

  3. 03

    Plan what comes next

Material recovery is considered alongside the management of residual fractions, opportunities for their use in other industries, and plans for land and soil restoration as the project progresses.

Resource responsibility

More recovery.
Less left behind.

Efficient use of materials and water is a design priority. Environmental performance depends on the feed, the selected process and the conditions of each project.

01 / WATER

Recirculate process water

Water used in washing is clarified and returned to the process. A recirculating water system is part of the processing concept.

02 / MATERIALS

Consider the whole material stream

Assess the potential to use tailings and mineral fractions in products for other industries, reducing the need for new accumulations.

03 / SITE

Include restoration from the start

Plan the development of existing deposits together with residual-material management and the restoration of the land.
